Barry White
Hi I am Barry White. After serving in the Army I joined the construction
industry and settled in Scotland. I am now the Chief Executive of a
government infrastructure company - The Scottish Futures Trust.
For the last ten years I, my wife Kandy and our two daughters (Kirsty
and Amy) have lived in the seaside village of Gullane, near Edinburgh.
Last year Kandy took part in Howards Way, completing the Hadrian’s Wall
walk and I was at the finish line as a spectator to see her and others
successfully complete what was a gruelling challenge.
I was struck by the team spirit of all those taking part, the great desire
to raise money for pancreatic cancer research and the pride to be doing
so in Howard’s memory.
This year it is my turn to take part and on the May Bank Holiday weekend I will be walking “Howards Way III, the South Downs Way”. I look forward to it (?) and hope to raise as much money as possible to help reach the overall target of £60,000. A 100 miles in 3.5 days – dig deep and help us help others.
